Heather Noonan, Joseph Waner, Gabrielle Powers, Miracle Jones and Steven Terrasas learned the rules of campaigning through the end of the election.
Next wednesday on april 30th the candidates will hold an open forum in the cafeteria at 12:30pm to meet with students and discuss their intentions.
Electronic ballots will open May 5th at 12am and close May 9th at 11:59pm.
After the orientation the candidates were asked about their plans should they be elected and how they would try to affect the campus.

Running for Assistant President, Heather Noonan said, “I’ve got a lot of big ideas for improvements on campus to make students lives more successful.” “I hear a lot about how students feel. They don’t feel like they  have power…Choices get made that [students] don’t necessarily agree with, and I really want to improve that.”
Noonan also stressed her focus on listening to students in regards to problems they’re having on campus. “It doesn’t matter what time of the day it is, or how tired I am I, if someone has a problem I want to know.” Noonan said.
Noonan also empasized the importance of improving the relationship between students and teachers/staff. “I really want to find ways to make students lives easier on campus.” Noonan said.
One of Noonans suggestions was to encourage the use of scooters, skateboards, rollerblades and bikes on campus, and not to limit students on how they can travel from one end of campus to the other. Noonan wants this to help students avoid getting into trouble or causing problems with people who would rather walk.

Joseph Waner who is also running for Assistant President said “I served as a team leader in the army so I became very used to not just leading people but being a teacher for other individuals”.
“I’m a little concerned about the safety issues the school has, not just on campus, but also off campus,” Waner said. He also said, “there are some things as a school and as an administration we could do better for them (students)”.
“I am one of the hardest working individuals you will ever meet” Waner said. Waner also said “I’ll work day and night. I don’t care how many hours it takes I’ll work for free if it means it makes this place better.”

Gabrielle Powers running for academic Vice President asked “how can we update what we have or you know downgrade if thats more spectacular to make it (the campus) more suitable for you.”  she said.
Powers also said, “when I was talking to students (sense she was elected last year) they don’t know a lot about the services we have, a lot don’t know about the peer tutoring center over in building 30.”
She also said that she wanted students to “utilize these services that we have to their greatest and fullest extent because it’s there SNA fee thats paying for this”

Miracle Jones running for Activities Vice President when asked why she was running said “I decided to run for office because the events on campus are fabulous as it is but they could be phenomenal”. Jones also said “I’ve had a lot of leadership experience, for example I am now the food bank director; I manage a staff of 24,” as a reason to vote for he
