“Some years we barely touch (the contingency funds) and some years we are down to the pennies.” Waite said.
The funds requested for Journalism would be helping to pay for the Journalism Club to send three students and an adviser to a Journalism conference to New York City. The trip will be March. 12 through 15.
The representative of the Journalism Club, Christian Koch said, “We picked students in the club that show dedication and a desire to choose (journalism) as a career.
“These students that will be going, will be able to meet professionals in the field that they are majoring in. Even our adviser will be able to take something away from this.”
The total cost of the trip is $5,120 and the Journalism Club’s budget for the trip is $2,300.
The Journalism Club is requesting the Activities Board to approve the contingency fund provide the difference in cost.
The funds requested for the ITP Club is to cover the cost of custodial and security for an up- coming weekend event that the club is hosting.
The event is for the club to bring in two comedians, Keith Warm and Wink. How the performance will work is one of the comedians will start his act with only using sign language and the other will voice for him. After the first act is over the comedians will trade role positions and continue on.
