Jedadiah Zillmer’s was a student at SFCC who tragically died the 11th of February.
The larger spokane community and the campus may have ways to avoid future tragedies such as this one.
“The spokane community, with regard to mental health and substance abuse, do a number of trainings” said Kim Taylor. Taylor suggests students looking to recognize mental health crisis take the free Mental Health first aid training course coming up at Eastern State hospital in march on the 11th and 12.
For those looking for professional help “I usually have a couple of community folks I refer them to just because I worked in the field” said Taylor.
If you would like to get help on campus you can contact Aaron Gonzales who know has an office on campus in the building 30 Falls gateway wednesdays 9AM to 3PM.
Other veterans who are having problems should go to Steven Ward in building 2 office 1A who “has access within the veterans system to somehow be able to fast track and get people counseling or housing” said Taylor.
