Halloween is on the horizon and the students and staff of SFCC are hosting a humans vs. zombies tag.
On Oct. 26, faculty, staff, and students will be infecting as many humans as possible. One zombie will be picked from a crowd of humans and needs to tag humans to make them zombies.
Between days zombies will stay zombies until as many humans as possible are infected. All that is required to join is an orientation on Oct. 19, to learn about the rules and register. After the game ends there will be an awards ceremony that is to be determined.
This project is being ran entirely by the students in the Associated Student Government, from the set up to the execution. An unusual idea such as this was brought down from the advisor of the ASG, Heather McKenzie Waite.
WaitE learned of the idea while attending the Council of Unions and Students Programs, with members from schools all around Washington state.
“I learned of the project from some of the members and wanted to try it here.” WaitE said. “Clark Community College in Vancouver and North Seattle Community College both accomplished this.”
McKenzie thought this was a good idea to bring to SFCC, and brought it to Sarah Hoxie, a member of the ASG, and they have been in charge from the start. The humans versus zombies activity is being directed by Hoxie and she has been the lead on it since the beginning.
“It’s something that hasn’t been done here, why not give it a shot? It’s my last year, why not make it a memorable year?” Hoxie said. “Humans versus zombies is creating a unique experience for Halloween for everyone at SFCC”.
Many of the items that aren’t in the calendar can be learned from attending the orientation. Any of the important dates about humans versus zombies can be found in the activity calendar.
Posters can be found around campus for humans versus zombies and it will start gaining steam as we get closer and closer to Halloween.
