Zombies lurk in the forest of Riverside State Park. Stay on the path and stay in your group if you wish to survive.

Riverside State Park is hosting the Spokane Zombie Hike Fridays and Saturdays from 6:30 to midnight. Come prepared, to hike through the woods. The terrain is uneven forest roads that have been cleared of brush and large rocks. Comfortable shoes and warm clothing recommended.

During these cold nights volunteers come to be painted and dressed up like zombies. They are then sent out into the woods to scare any hiker or jogger who comes their way.

24 year old Colton Harris, a former student at Spokane Community College took his finace Shelby Nagala to the hike for a date.

“It reminded me of a haunted corn maze,” Colton Harris said. “It was better than Scarywood in my opinion.”

The hike is a half mile long and no average time has been recorded. Hikers are dependent on their brains and athleticism to make it through the hike.

“Hiking has never been my strong suit.” Nagala said.“It was challenging and it scared the crap out of me, but i did have a good time.”

The last chance to attend the zombie hike will be Oct.25 through Oct. 26th. Admission is $5 and no pets are allowed. Children under the age of 12 must be guided by an adult.

“We will definitely be back again.” Harris said.
