Out of all of the holidays, Valen- tines Day is one that can easily be forgotten when you’re caught up in other things. You’re stuck with trying to find last minute dinner reservations and end up with either a very late dinner appointment at a not-so-nice restaurant or even none at all.

So here you are, stuck trying to make plans for you and your sweetheart

the night before Valentines Day and you’re in a panic because literally nothing is coming to mind. Before you think it’s a lost cause and that you should just try again next year, remember that there are plenty of ideas out there that you can take up last minute that will leave your sweet- heart thinking you’ve had it planned for months.

First off, it doesn’t have to be the man planning everything all the time. While it may seem awkward and out of place to plan a Valentine’s Day date being the girl in the relation- ship, it can be a refreshing change of events to take the pressure off of your boyfriend for one night. This alone could already be enough to make his Valentines Day one to en- joy. So, if you’ve told your boyfriend that you’re making the plans this year and you can’t think of anything, here are some ideas that will take the pres- sure off.

The real key to having a perfect Val- entines Day on a last minute budget plan is to participate in some of his hobbies. While you may or may not enjoy it, today is the day to do some- thing you wouldn’t normally do. If your boyfriend/husband is an out- doorsy type of guy, surprise him by taking him skiing or snowboarding. This is something you don’t have to worry about reserving, you just have to get up and do it. He will be totally surprised that you took the initiative to do something that he enjoys and will possibly be slightly impressed, even though you may fall a couple hundred times depending on your athletic abilities. Another similar idea could be just simply spending the day sitting at home watching his favorite sports game with him. This gives him the opportunity to teach you how the game is played, something that some guys might enjoy.

Try to avoid doing anything that you both already do together. If you’re both into sports, sitting at home watching the game will seem casual and not too creative on your part. He might not even realize that it’s Valentines Day.

Buying a card for your boyfriend/ husband is like buying chocolates for a girl. However, write something in the card that deals with what how you appreciate what he does for you. Guys wonder sometimes whether or not their girlfriend actually notices the little things they do. Illustrating to him that you do notice and that you care will mean alot to him.

For men, it is actually fairly simple to achieve a last minute Valentines Day gift for your wife/girlfriend. A creative yet simple gift could be cre- ating a mixed CD full of songs that are completely dedicated towards her. Find songs that have had mean- ing in your relationship or say how you feel about her. To one-up this idea, if you can play an instrument, try recording these songs of you play- ing it. It will have much more mean- ing to it.

Another great idea is to put candy or love notes into several red bal- loons; blow them up and surprise her with a bouquet of balloons full of your love.

If you can’t find any dinner reser- vations, just make a home cooked meal. If you are an awful chef and can’t possibly cook an edible meal, don’t be scared to ask your mother or grandmother to help you.

There are plenty of ideas out there for the last minute Valentines Day planners that will make your day a complete success.
