Pioneering his music with his audio technical skills, adapting concepts and creativity SFCC student Hayes Noble has a philosophical approach to the way he constructs his music.
“It’s the art of limitation,” Noble said. “I go for lo-fi all acoustic song tape cassettes and I’ll make my music low quality on purpose. Compact thoughts with impact.”
His selection for album covers is a simpler process than most. When asked about his recent album cover and how he decided on a picture, he revealed that process.
“I got the photo and dug it,” said Noble. “Super easy, super cool.”
The Hayes Noble Band, which includes himself and his family members, has performed in many midwest states and locally in Spokane. They have played at venues in Spokane like the Garland Theatre and Big Dipper.
“Big Dipper is a traditional place,” said Noble.
The Hayes Noble Band is not as numerous as other family bands but it is family oriented. Hayes’ father Brett plays the bass and his little brother Everett plays the drums.
Their work is a family affair from start to finish.
Noble’s mother designs the artwork seen throughout his merch, album covers and any other graphics he may need.
“Mom hopped in the pool during the photo shoot for the album cover of Head
Cleaner,” said Noble. “I am poking my head in the pool and she is taking the photo.”
Noble took his first commercial flight over winter break. His adventurous nature found the photograph location for the article. He talked about the guitar in the photo. An inexpensive purchase, to a played favorite.
“I changed the frets, and I like how it sounds,” he said.
While their performances are paused until a medical recovery, their music can be Wfound on streaming sites like Spotify and YouTube.
Noble shares his advice for making music.
“Be happy with the final product,” said Hayes. “Limit your expectations of how it sounds.”
