Joanna Andrade-Lenz

Joanna Andrade-Lenz is a sophomore standing at Spokane Falls Community College. Holding the position of Managing Editor for The Communicator. Majoring in Journalism, she plans to complete her Associate of Arts in Spring of 2026. She aspires to transfer out to either Gonzaga University or The University of Washington to complete her Bachelor of Arts. Joanna has written a handful of news stories involving culture such as, “Honoring Hispanic Heritage Month,” and “Nations Converge.” Starting Fall of 2025 she will be transferring into the position of Editor-In-Chief.

Writing has always been a positive outlet for her as she is also a Poet. One of her poems was selected by The Wire Harp Coffee House, which is due for publishing on May 28th in their Creative Arts Magazine. Joanna was also accepted into the 2025 Free Press Workshop hosted by FIRE’s Student Press Freedom Initiative. A convention where student journalists from across the country will join for a day of intensive study on student press rights. Joanna will to continue allow literature to shape her life and educational path, striving to become a reporter.
