The clubs on campus make many contributions to campus life and here are three clubs that exemplify having an effect on student life.

The health and wellness club, which promotes healthy life habits, meets every two weeks in the cafeteria VIP room; the next meeting is Wednesday the 19.

“I’ve been to some other clubs and there friendly and i’d stay in them but but it’s not as welcoming and she’s always friendly and so happy to see you” Kayleigh Kosanke said when asked what keeps her coming back to the health and wellness club every week.

“we offer healthy alternatives, we teach people about healthy snacking, positive living, things that you can do to make your life less stressful” David Reed said, when asked to describe the wellness club.

when asked about how easy it is join David said “it’s great meeting new people,” and “it’s an open group, anyone can show up at anytime and then if it’s not your thing, then you can add it or drop it” .

The Revelers club which meets every week at 12:45 which meets in the spartan theater, building 5 is part of the drama department and is open to anyone who wants to get involved.

“were a very open welcoming community always getting people involved, we always give jobs and we can use all the help can get” Platon Hogan said. “we do the most activities of any other club we put on three shows a year each show we do eight times.” plus they do a fundraiser every quarter.

Next spring they are doing a two night commedia dell’arte performance “which is a very funny classical form of improv” Nick Fortner said.

The Alliance Meets Every Friday in building 24 room 325 at 1pm, the Alliance represents the LGBT community on campus.

“it’s an LGBT or questioning and then straight allies alliance” Katie Saccomanno said when describing the Alliance. Katie went on to say “its just like a safe place for all to like be a part of” without being judged.

“we have really broad age range and gender and sexual orientation and i think thats great” Martina Leigh Davis said. Davis also said that it’s “not for just gay people or just one certain set of people”.

“one of the huge misconceptions about our club, like every time at club day oh i can’t join the alliance because i’m not gay, no this is a place for everybody” Katie said.

The point that all three of the clubs in this story wanted to put across is that they are all open to new members joining at time. Revelers Club meets every monday at 12:45pm, Health and wellness every other week on wednesday at 1:30 and the alliance meets  at 1pm every friday.
