Bryce Gray
The Communicator
I have been on and off with the paper for four Quarters (Pretty much every other quarter i was on staff) three of those Quarters i have been and editor.
It has been an amazing experience and really an eye opener as to how newspapers are written and how hard reporters and a newspaper staff have to work to keep up with broadcast and internet news (Especially when is a Biweekly paper).
I have survived a lot during my time at the paper from a Car wreck that nearly killed me my first quarter, to a Hard Case EIC (Editor-in-Chief), to having two people in my section and one of them not doing any work.
Shot out to Meghan Kirk, Megan Smith, Conner Nuckols, Brittany Tolleson, Christian Koch, Emily Norton, Jason Nix, And Mark Doerr for helping me learn, being great a section mates, and amazing advisers. The news conference trips are amazing and take you to very cool places (New York, New Orleans, Chicago, ETC) For very little and can be a very interesting experience depending on where you go and how you stay there and be sure to expect a few pranks .
To anyone who is going to take the Newsroom Production class or work on The Communicator it is a fun class and very interesting and informative plus this class seeme on the outside that it is a very “Sink or Swim” sort of class but honestly it is very hard to Sink unless you don’t do any work and don’t show up for any class day.
I will really miss everyone there and working on the paper But at the end of the day I learned quite a bit and made quite a few friends and honestly I’m sad to go but life calls and I plan on making the best of it.
